In early 2024, something magical happened. Monica Dickinson and Vivek Sharma traded in their C-Suite desks (and a whole lot of Zoom calls) for dockside chats, canoe paddles, and fireside s’mores. Yep — they became the proud new owners and hosts of Lac Le Jeune Resort, and let’s just say… they’re loving the view.

What started as a shared dream of building something meaningful turned into a full-blown lakeside adventure. Part fixer-upper, part love letter to BC’s wild beauty, Lac Le Jeune Resort is now their passion project — and you’re invited to be part of it.

Today, on May 16th one year ago this dynamic duo opened the doors at Lac Le Jeune Resort and haven’t looked back!

So, who are these two anyway?

Monica Dickinson
Monica is a tourism pro who’s been shouting BC’s praises from the rooftops (or at least the destination marketing world) for over two decades. She’s worked hard behind the scenes making sure visitors fall in love with our region — and now she gets to do it from her own little corner of paradise. With a talent for storytelling, a killer eye for detail, and a heart full of hospitality, she’s the friendly face that’ll probably greet you with a big smile (and maybe a cold drink) at check-in.

Vivek Sharma
Vivek is the brains behind the biz (but don’t worry, he’s got plenty of heart, too). With a background in operations, strategy, and business restructuring he’s the one making sure the business hums, everything is in working order, and details don’t get missed. He’s all about systems, service — and sneaking off for a paddle when he can.

Together? Well, they’re the perfect pair: dreamers, doers, and now, full-time resort hosts living their best lake life.

2024: What. A. Year.

Let’s just say, it’s been a whirlwind. In the first season of Monica & Vivek’s resort adventure, there was a whole lot of:
✅ Painting, fixing, sprucing, and scrubbing.
✅ Laughing (sometimes crying) through renovations.
✅ Hosting guests from near and far who helped bring the resort back to life.
✅ Learning the fine art of lake life logistics — like which squirrel keeps stealing the birdseed.

They’ve poured love into corner of the resort — and it shows. Guests have come for the calm, stayed for the charm, and left with memories (and probably a few new campfire tales… let’s be honest — nature is the best medicine).

2025: Let’s Dream Bigger

The plan? Keep the good times rolling. Monica and Vivek are never short on ideas and have some fun new additions for 2025, including:

🍽️ A new menu with the help of our new chef and have all kinds of delicious items on offer. Don’t miss out on daily Happy Hour snacks and weekend brunch on both Saturday & Sunday!
🔥 Local partnerships that feature the best of the Kamloops region – Privato, Monte Creek Winery, Woodward Cider Co., Left Field Cider, Iron Road Brewing, Domenic’s Marine, and Brynn’s Bakery.
🌲 Retreats for those who want to reset, recharge, and spend time with family and friends that mean the most.
💚 Continued efforts to make the resort even more cozy and comfy allowing you to focus on living your best lake life!
