With lake access on both sides of Lac Le Jeune Road, there’s fun stuff to do all year round! Dive into swimming, fishing, kayaking, stand-up paddleboarding, and canoeing in the summer, or when winter rolls in, the frozen lake turns into a playground for ice fishing, skating, cross-country skiing, and snowshoeing.

This tiny white ball of fluff called Evvie is coming up for 3 weeks old and it’s time to begin training. Coming from a Tribe without any experience of being haltered or handled, Mama will have to be kept separate; she’s a bit of a live wire!
Twizzle is a Huarizo – a hybrid llama/alpaca. We are guessing that Evvie is the result of a mating with Twizzle and an alpaca, so we don’t know what that makes her, apart from being a cutie!
The work of rebuilding The Llama Sanctuary has slowed down, due to lack of funds. If you happen to find a couple of ‘mill’ under the mattress, spare a thought for Evvie and the other 56 residents of The Llama Sanctuary!! Failing that, $10 is appreciated just as much. Congratulations to artists Dennis Staginnus of Kamloops and Zuzy Rocka of Sun Peaks, whose artworks have been selected to represent the theme “The Essence of Sun Peaks”. Thirty-five beautiful and thoughtful pieces of artwork were submitted, and we thank all the talented artists who gave their creativity and interpretation to the assignment. Stay tuned for an artwork unveiling in the coming months, where you’ll be invited to join us to meet the artists and see the artwork in its final form for the first time.
About the artists:
Dennis Staginnus dopeyartdesign is a Kamloops artist, inspired by the great Canadian outdoors, the wildlife that inhabit this planet, and pop culture. Focussed on digital illustration, his winning art submission celebrates the harmony between the visitor and nature.
Zuzy Rocka bythezu is a Sun Peaks area artist and illustrator, whose artwork often showcases natural subjects with a surrealist spin that creates something of a new world. Animals are prevalent in her work, as they are in her winning submission, and for her are a source of inspiration and deep connection.

Riverside Park, Playground and Spray park
Okaaaay we are loving the new spray park! Wow! We took our little monkey for her 1st birthday and she absolutely loved it! This is an absolute must if you have littles and it’s a hot day! ☀️
Riverside playground seems very inclusive and accessible, what do you think? We love all the climbing gyms and the ground is soft and rubbery which makes it perfect for babies to roam around too! We have lots of slides, swings, and new innovative activities for kids of all ages to enjoy. 🛝
This park is also great for a nice walk along the water, I enjoyed it when I was pregnant for a nice stroll. There is a tennis court and pickleball on one end and a dog park on the other. 🌳
What do you love or hate about this park? They could definitely keep it safer, that would be my biggest concern so you do have to keep your eyes out here. But it really is a nice park. 🧺
